My TESStimony Book Reviews

My TESStimony Book 2

Inspirational book!
Wow, this book is truly inspirational. It contains thought-provoking concepts that inspire me to find new hope and confidence in the will of God. Indeed this author has a true testimony and passion for the things of God which can be silence. She stood firm on the words of God and waves an applicable guide that is significant enough to commit, simple enough to be understood. Detailed enough to be followed and specific enough to be measured. Frankly, this book will change your way of thinking and maybe even the way you live your life. I love it! ~ Welch Design~

Superb Read!
I am truly blessed for such an extraordinary and inspiring read. Undoubtedly this spiritual book held me captive with divine truths of the bible. Each chapter of this well-organized book is based on biblical principles geared to guide you on how to create a life worth living. The author’s interpretations of biblical texts were consistent non-stop. Applications of the text were spot-on. I had a superb read enjoying God`s Words and learning from the experiences of the author. This is a must have!

My TESStimony offers the reader a special opportunity to get involved in the book. Contessa will tell her personal story of something that happened in her life and then how she decided to handle it. One of my favorite parts of the book was the judgment section. Contessa was getting judged by her peers as some of them didn’t like the way that she dressed. Contessa stayed true to herself and used her faith in God to get through the tough situations. At the end of her personal story, Contessa has two questions to help you think about some important things in life. After the judgment chapter, as the reader I was asked if I was ever judged or if I had ever judged someone else. I realized that I had been judging other people unfairly and it wasn’t the word of the Lord. I really enjoyed this sneak peak from Contessa’s book and I can’t wait to read more! ~Yazmine~

Dear Contessa,

I have finished reading your book and I absolutely LOVED it. It really spoke to me on so many levels. You are a phenomenal writer, and your narrative voice is stunning. There were so many moments when I laughed, sympathized, cheered you on, etc. Your personal story has so many levels, of being tragic, heartbreaking, but also the beauty of your courage and love for God. I have no doubt that readers will appreciate your honesty in sharing your story, and your love for wanting to help people through your words is such a gift. You should be very proud of your accomplishments and I applaud you!

At first, I thought Contessa Jackson’s “My TESStimony” would be a typical self-help style book. I was very, very quickly proven wrong – and thankfully so. It has turned out to be a pivotal book for me. It’s difficult to capture, in full detail, the depth and breadth of what Ms. Contessa Jackson has accomplished with this text. But, if you’ll permit me a try:

“My TESStimony” was an amazingly refreshing read. In it, Contessa Jackson lovingly but firmly implores us to reexamine so many of the damaging habits, attitudes, and practices that we’ve come to embody as a society. Using a number of appropriate Spiritual References (highly relevant Bible verses) as well as intimate personal prayers and thought exercises, Contessa Jackson tackles important life topics and guides our thoughts as we consider alternative, more God-centered perspectives and ideals. Contessa Jackson complements her own (refreshing) no-nonsense social commentary with thoughtful snippets showcasing her deep and thoughtful reverence for God and his Word.

For example: why is it considered a fashion blunder to simply wear an item of clothing back-to-back? By merely asking us the question, she forces us to try to come up with a good answer – and indeed, there is none! We soon realize how foolish many of these ideals are. She concludes this discussion about clothing and fashion with a spot-on verse about desire and covetousness, then a beautiful personal prayer of her own on the topic. Her prayer really helped to articulate a new attitude that was so much more meaningful and appreciative than the hedonistic, materialistic attitude I was so accustomed to – it translated vague desires and thoughts into specific words, and was endlessly helpful.

Throughout the rest of the text, she touches upon various topics: clothing, social media, self-encouragement, making excuses, acceptance, and more. One chapter in particular – titled “Learning to forgive genuinely” – really struck a chord with me. It was humbling, and was a wonderful reminder to stay open-minded and quell my own impulse to constantly judge, judge, judge. We are all human, after all.

It is quite difficult to describe how important this text is! So many important discussions regarding love, friendship, materialism, gossip, properly observing the Sabbath, and more. I consider myself a very critical reader, but I do not hesitate in calling Ms. Jackson’s “My TESStimony” an essential text for all to read. Its contents discuss issues of universal importance for every man, woman, and child to consider. Accessible, friendly, and funny. For both budding Christians and non-Christians alike, I highly recommend this book. It will challenge you, certainly, but you will emerge on the other side as a happier, kinder, more God-focused person because of it. It was truly a blessing! ~aflashyrhetoric~

I appreciate u so much more now. I know its not easy opening up like that for the world to see. I respect you more for being true to who u are… Never had an issue with your style. Thought u wore it well! You are beautiful inside and out! 😀 I pray that your relationship with your brother works out. I’m in the same boat when it comes to that. I just feel that if someone wants to be a part of my life then they would show it or make effort. I don’t feel that they want to be in my life. I have so many “gifts” as well, but still not completely sure of the direction I am or should go. Been praying, but not consistently.😕 I know I will understand soon, just gotta pray harder and ask for understanding… Ok back to u. I am so happy and proud of you with all your accomplishments. Really enjoyed reading your first book. Can’t wait for the next. You have my forever support. Love you! 😘 ~Keshia M~

Excellent book, very transparent and real! I look forward to more from this exceptional author! A necessity for your personal library! ~Charles~

My TESStimony was a beautifully written book by Contessa Jackson. Contessa pours her heart into this book and tells of her own personal experiences. I really enjoyed this book and found myself being motivated by the author’s accomplishments. Contessa is a teacher and decided to go back to get her Bachelor’s. She then decided to go back and her Master’s. She now has two Master’s and she got them both while teaching, having children and taking care of her niece. She is truly a motivated person and I loved reading about her accomplishments. I also enjoyed how she incorporated religion into her book. I loved the scriptures and they helped to motivate me further.
